「科學的考古學」的展覽將是一個考古學的探索之旅，也是一個關於考古學學科本身的故事。主要在向觀眾介紹考古學的內涵與精神，認識考古學如何逐步發現、探索、分析現象、並利用科學精神與技術來解釋驗證考古發現的器物與現象。在這個展覽中，並非僅止於呈現特定的文化或遺址的文化史，而是考古學家如何發現、分析與還原事實的過程，以及在解釋或詮釋現象時的依據。

本展廳利用不同的遺址造景，具體呈現考古現場的氣氛，使觀眾瞭解考古學家如何解讀考古遺址的各種現象。藉著不同的考古學案例，與問題思考，逐步引導觀眾探索考古學家復原古代人類歷史的過程。透過現場情境的營造，藉著空間中視覺美感、觸覺、聽覺的運用，觸動觀眾的感覺神經，使之彷彿走入考古第一現場。藉著運用不同形式的高科技互動、多媒體媒材，讓觀眾親手操作、觀察、親身體驗與參與考古工作的流程。

The mission of the exhibition
The exhibition, “Scientific Archaeology”, is not only to provide an exploration of archaeology, but also to tell a story of archaeological practice. It introduces to the audience how archaeologists gradually discover, explore, and analyze archaeological materials, such as artifacts and features, using a scientific spirit and scientific techniques. In this exhibition, we do not present specific archaeological cultures or sites; instead, we discuss the processes archaeologists use to discover, analyze and explain archaeological materials.

This exhibition uses various scenes to reconstruct the atmospheres of archaeological sites. Using different cases, we gradually lead the audience to explore the processes through which archaeologists reconstruct the past. Through the visual and tactile scenes of first-hand practices, we will let the audience participate in archaeological work.
