Proposal of discovery and rescue of Expressway 11 Luchuan Harbor Relics (Proposal director: Mei-cheng Yeh)

Harbor Relics is located on the north of Shuiguruan Brook. The fourth construction division of Directorate General of Highways commissioned the museum to excavate Harbor Relics in broadened and route-changed area of Expressway 11, and to evaluate the collection of the relics. Since 2002, the fourth construction division has commissioned the museum to salvage the relics.

Harbor Relics contains at least four cultures: 1) Dafengkeng Culture, which is 4,400 years from now, the typical utensils include orange rope-patterned pottery, and it is concentrated in local area about 30m up from the road-use land; 2) Chihlin Culture, which is 2,000-3,500 years from now, the typical utensils include orange plain pottery and grinded stoneware and jade articles; 3) Chingpu Culture, possible remain of Chihwulansheh, which is 200-650 years from now, the typical utensils include burgundy plain pottery; 4) modern culture, which is within 200 years from now, it is the cultural transition of late Chihwulansheh as it was influenced by Han culture, the typical utensils include hard pottery and porcelain, lazurite, and copper coins of Ching Dynasty.
