Notice for Visitors

A. The Objectives of the Center are:

a. To provide all visitors an opportunity and environment for self-directed learning;
b. To support and enhance the museum quality through learning resources such as books, enquiry service and specimens;
c. To provide assistance to school education, family education and lifelong learning, as well as a knowledgeable, heuristic and entertaining learning opportunity.

B. The Functions of the Center are:

a. To provide the visitors with enquiry service concerning subjects such as archaeology, ethnology and natural history;
b. To integrate and make available of the educational resources of the NMP;
c. To provide the schoolteachers and community residents with related study topics and educational activities.

C. The Applicable Subjects are:

a. Teachers and students of elementary and junior high schools;
b. Parents and children.

D. Open Hours

Saturday to Sunday: 09:00~17:00

E. Guidelines of Usage

a. General
1. Please sign in when entering the Center. Children under 6 years of age must be accompanied by the parents.
2. Visitors shall dress neatly, keep quiet, and maintain the tidiness of the area when entering the Center. Visitors shall not occupy the seats beforehand, wear slippers or roller bladders, play, talk loudly, smoke, eat, sleep or misconduct that may interfere with others.
3. Telephone reservation or reservation by mail one week in advance is required for group use or class session during the closing hours.
4. Use the hard/software facilities, books, and video information with care. The users can be requested for indemnification in situations of damages. The indemnification will be used toward repurchase of the damaged object. If the original object is not purchasable, then the user shall to pay the price of the object.
5. Please return the materials back to the original stack or the designated place after use
6. Bring your own battery for use of personal electronic instruments. The Center does not provide the use of power.
7. Pets and hazardous articles are not allowed in the Center. No advertisement, advertising brochures, and sale of goods are allowed inside the Center.
8. Valuables or private books, bags and handbags are the responsibility of the owners. The Center is not liable for any lost items. The open hours of the Lost and Found Office is the same as that of the Center. The users can retrieve the belongings before the closing of the Center on the same day.
9. In emergency situations, please seek safety or evacuate according to the instruction given by the staff.
10. Visitors will be asked to leave when violation of the rules and ignorance over the exhortation is observed.

b. The Use of Audio-Video Information
1. The audio-video information provided by the Center requires signing up before borrowing. Limited to one article per person each time.
2. Users shall use the resources appropriately according to the Copyright Law. Users are legally responsible in case of violation.
3. Please operate audio-video players according to the "Instructions". Users can ask for assistance from the staff when it is necessary. The facilities are only for the use of audio-video information of the Center.

c. The Use of Computer Search
1. Users shall sign in before using the computer search system. Each person is allowed for 30-minute use. If one is waiting in line, the usage time can be extended for another 30 minutes.
2. Users have the priority when using for information or catalog search of the Center's collection.
3. Operate the computer in compliance to the "instruction". Please ask for help from the staff when it is necessary. Users are not allowed to use the Internet for chatting, viewing pornographies, online games, or gambling. Users are legally responsible for the misconduct of downloading files that violate the Copyright Law.
4. Visitors will be deprived for the right of use when violation of the rules and ignorance over the exhortation is observed.
